At the outset of this module you were provided with the following information about aims and objectives: AIMS The aim of this module is to provide students with an understanding of: how L2 languages are acquired by young learners how to create the most suitable classroom environment for the young learner effective classroom methodologies for beginners and youngsters Outcomes On completion of this module students will be able to: define and differentiate between technical terms used to describe the language system & laguage acquisitions (first & second language) describe affective factors in child learning and development compare similarities and differences between L1 and L2 acquisition/development explain and demonstrate the complexities of meaning at word and sentence level compare and justify appropriate methods for learning vocabulary & grammar practically use and apply a range of classroom procedures/ activities/ tasks and their effects upon L2 learning analyse, prepare and authentically tell (not read) stories appropriate for their age group. account for reasons that a teacher/pupil may switch language from target to native language Please comment. In your opinion have these aims and outcomes been met? If not, then which ones were not. State, also how they could be.

2Nov 22, 2012 6:28 PMI think the aims and outcomes have met. It has been a good mix of reading textbooks and the practical exercises. I liked the Vocabulary Revision it was fun! I have received many tips, confirmed some things I've done before and got new things to think about. I missed grammar lessons because I have to be better at that. Above all, how to teach grammar in a good way. It was useful to give feedback, but it would have been nice to get it from you too!
3Nov 22, 2012 4:57 PMI have learnt a lot during this course! But it has been far too much. I have for some weeks been working 20 hours instead of 10! And I have a work too! I am not sure this is fair for my pupils or my family!

5Nov 22, 2012 9:03 AMI think that the course has been very good eventhough it was hard to read everything in English in the beginning.. I have learn a lot about how a child learn language from the very beginning and that was something new for me eventhough I have two children of my own. It was interesting to read about the resurce. It was also new for me that language can be so different but also so much the same. The course has also been a "wake up call" for my grammar teaching. I know see that it must be more specific and I have to make the goals for the lessons more clear for the pupils. I am now speaking much more English with my pupils than I did before. It was interesting that dicipilning should be in L1. That was also new information for me.

13Nov 20, 2012 10:28 AMJag tycker att alla de syften som nämns ovan har behandlats och fått sina svar i arbetet med den här modulen. Boken TLYL beskriver och förklarar på ett mycket bra sätt vad som händer i ett klassrum med hänvisning till de mål som ges för den här delkursen. Att få arbeta både teoretiskt och praktiskt med olika uppgifter tycker jag har varit en stor fördel. Jag började den här kursen med ganska vaga föreställningar om vad den skulle behandla och vad som var syftet men tycker att det är klart och tydligt att mål och innehåll överensstämmer med varandra.

15Nov 20, 2012 9:24 AMI think that we have been working whit all the aims whitin the course. The practicall tasks that we have shared whit all of the other classmates was very scary in the begining but it have been fun listening to other students thoughts in different questions.

18Nov 20, 2012 12:34 AMI think that the books we have used, is very good and instructive. The format of the course was also good with mixed tasks. Together they have achieved the objectives of the course. But I hope that the technical work, not affect the validity of the knowledge in english..

22Nov 19, 2012 10:11 PMJag kan jämföra denna kurs med mina kollegors som går på ett annat universitet och jag kan säga att jag är mycket nöjd i jämförelse med dem. De känner inte att de har fått verktyg att använda under lektionerna, vilket jag har. Jag känner också att denna del har stärkt mig som lärare i min kunskap om hur man lär och hur jag kan använda min kunskap för att tyda vår läroplan. Mycket nöjd!
